With this trekking excursion, Erica, our guide, will not only take you to visit enchanting places, but will also share part of her personal story with you with a visit to her family's home, where she spent her childhood and where her parents currently live.
You will retrace together a stretch of the ancient Via Francigena which, since the 10th century, has allowed trade and cultural exchanges making San Gimignano one of the most important destinations of the Middle Ages. You will be surrounded by a breathtaking view in which you can admire in the distance the famous towers of San Gimignano, which have given the city the nickname of "Manhattan of the Middle Ages". The visit to the parish
church of Cellole will be a very impressive experience. This church is in Romanesque style and is one of the oldest churches in this area, whose entrance is preceded by a grove of cypresses replanted by the families of the faithful, following the 1879 restorations during which they were demolished.
Your excursion will end at Erica’s parents' house: this is not only a house, but also a workshop: her mother and her father have made it a sacred place to dedicate themselves to their art. She is a pianist and he is a sculptor, among the tools of the trade, musical instruments, brushes and colors, you will get to know them and be conquered by their history and mastery.
