Trekking to the Montenero Reserve and the little waterfalls of the Strolla stream

In the countryside of Volterra there is a special place that will enchant you for its historical and naturalistic features. Erica, your guide, will take you inside the Montenero Reserve that among its oak woods hides the ruins of the medieval castle of Nera and the miraculous milk source.
This territory has been crossed since ancient times by travelers and pilgrims who walked the Via del Sale (Salt Road), which led them from Volterra to San Gimignano. You will walk on volcanic rocks dug by the Strolla stream and depending on the time of year, you can cool off among its little waterfalls surrounded by unspoilt nature. Finally, you will look out from the Masso del Diavolo (Devil’s Boulder) from where you will enjoy a unique panorama of the surrounding rolling hills.
