La via Francigena on foot

Starting from the Middle Ages, the Via Francigena was the main road axis that led from central-northern Europe to Rome.  From an environmental and historical-cultural point of view, one of the most beautiful stops of the Via Francigena is the one that connects San Gimignano to Monteriggioni (30 KM).
Leaving San Gimignano, direction of Loc. Santa Lucia, after a stretch of ups and downs, you arrive near one of the stops of the route of Sigerico, to date not yet located with accuracy: Molino d'Aiano. Continue towards Badia a Coneo, Gracciano and then to Strove, with its beautiful Romanesque church. You have to pass by the beautiful complex of Abbadia a Isola before reaching Monteriggioni, with its unmistakable crown of towers.
